14/05/11 Waitarere Marathon a
success Weather
and Tides came together today after
a worrying start with not much
beach. Marathon race was underway by
noon with leaders finishing just
after 2pm. An excellent day hitting
60+ kmh most laps. Ian Timperley
claimed the Trophy for the 2nd time,
congratulations! |

Oceans - The
official opening is today at
12:30pm, come down to Queens Wharf
in Wellington and have a look.

After the
opening, the 4 skippers will be
match racing on the wharf in
BLOKARTS!
This is the first
time we have been able to sail on
the wharf, a big thanks to Helipro
and Velux 5 Oceans for that!
The yachts will
be here until Waitangi day and there
will be a display set up in the shed
beside the yachts (Fergs is at one
end) and there will be a blokart
displayed for the week as well. If
you cannot get down today, pop in
over the weekend or next week.
